Small talk opens doors. Giving and getting information gets things done. The Socializing and Small Talk lessons covered the first part. These new lessons cover the second — the moment a conversation shifts from friendly to functional and learners need the right words, the right tone, and the right level of politeness for the situation.
Asking for Information at Work puts learners inside a modern office — chasing deliveries on company apps, navigating Teams channels, and practicing indirect questions with a new IT colleague who explains what Shadow AI is. Asking for Information in Hospitality moves to cruises, city tours, conferences, and restaurants — where the vocabulary shifts to venues, itineraries, entrance fees, and guest lists but the soft skills stay the same. Both lessons run the full sequence from brainstorming to speaking, with audio and multiple critical thinking extensions throughout.
This post also includes a makeover of the Starting a Business lesson. Updated, refreshed, and reorganized for 2026, it builds from branding and target audience vocabulary through a wellness entrepreneur role play to a business pitch fair.
